An important step was my research stay at Columbia University in New York, where I studied the effects of environmental influences on the cardiovascular system. <\/p>\n<p>After returning to Austria, I completed my specialist cardiology training, obtained my habilitation at the Medical University of Vienna and currently work as a senior physician for cardiology at the Floridsdorf Clinic in Vienna. There I run a special outpatient clinic for structural heart disease and look after patients with complex cardiological problems. I am also an active member of the advisory board of the Austrian Society for Hypertension.
